Station 1300

Located in the heart of Menlo Park - right across from the train station, for you locals - Springline is a 6+acre mixed-use development. With such a substantial footprint it was critical to clearly identify the key entrances and create a welcoming gateway into the massive internal courtyard. The KMD team partnered with BAR architects , WL Butler, and Presidio Bay Ventures to develop an archway at the main pedestrian entrance on Camino Real.

Stretching over 50’ long, we built the arch in three components to allow for transit and installation on site. The arch was fabricated using laser cut and formed steel plate, creating an incredibly strong latticework without excess weight, just like the bridges it’s inspired by.

Although we can’t take all the credit, the development has been garnering some headlines, including this nice feature in the SF Chronicle.
