CHAPEL HILL COFFEE CO. Rafael Vizcaíno, responsible for one of Kyle’s first professional portfolio photoshoots 15 years ago, circled back to the KMD shop when he needed unique details to flesh out the small space for his new collaboration Chapel Hill with San Francisco coffee mavens Boor Bridges. KMD opened up the small space by fabricating and installing a steel picture window that lifts parallel to the street using a linear ball drive actuator mechanism uniting the shop with the bustling financial district. In addition, a Monterey cypress mobile bar table and matching wall plaque was built to stay in keeping with the utilitarian feel of the cafe while creating a sense of warmth.
